Heatwole Sewing / Quilt Retreat

We are in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee near Pigeon Forge for this annual event.
Snow and ice were on the steep drive to our cabin.

A nostalgic moment.
Barbara made this quilt from Father’s pants. Mother said he never wore jeans.

Not everyone brought sewing projects to work on.

Amy finished piecing her Star Spin quilt from a pattern designed by our sister Barbara.

Ashton took me on a steep walk all the way around the cabin.

So, where is everyone?

Some of the cousins from the next generation are sewing right along with us.

Such a talented family! Those beautiful mountains would be a wonderful inspiration for any sort of artistic endeavor, and when you can do it in the company of those you treasure -- well, it wouldn't get any better than that!

How wonderful it is that you have this yearly quilty retreat with your family! It warms my heart to see the tradition of sewing passing on to the younger generations.
I think the photo of Ashton on your walk about the cabin would be a wonderful art quilt :o)
Have a great day.
Always, Queenie
