Sunrise, On Ringo Lake, Boys, Sunset

Sunrise in the East

This just can't be right for Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilt #OnRingoLake; but it's fun to play with a layout.

After playing for a while at our house, I took Rusty & Teryn to the field to ride in the tractor with their dad.

Let's make plastic! Cornstarch, water, glycerin, and vinegar. The boys found this DIY on youtube.

Sunrise, MQA Meeting, Lost Quilt

Life ...
Occasionally I get up early.

Talya, the birthday girl. I got her a nice card with a large 5 on it.

And then when we got to her house for her party I found out that she only turned 4!

... as a Quilter
We enjoyed a guest, Marietta J. from the coast for one night.

She along with the other MQA board members came here for a meeting on Saturday.

I wish I could find my other bunk bed quilt like this one that I made back in the 1980s. If you see it somewhere, please let me know!

It is made from a lot of scraps from my old dresses and Amy's dresses.

Sunrise Beauty, Picnic, Fixing the Pond, Grabers

Life ...
The beauty of the morning sky continues to enthrall me.

What does it matter if the landscaping grass becomes flattened and my best sofa pillow becomes soiled? Ashton, Georgi, and Talya had fun making their own little nests.

Paul pulled dirt and mud from the pond...

... and will pack it down along the banks to try and stop the leaking.

He was glad for a sandwich and Mt. Dew for a break.

At their suggestions and pleas, I fixed a picnic lunch for us.

A portion of Paul's family gathered at the school for a Thanksgiving lunch and fellowship.

Sunrise, Girls Club, and Thanksgiving

Life …
Paul woke me up early this morning to see the beautiful sunrise.

This evening I gave the Bible lesson at Girls Club. First they sang ...

... and memorized scripture, and then I had the lesson on Thanksgiving.  Afterward they made turkeys during craft time.

Life as a Quilter

Life …

In the morning …

… and in the evening, I will give thanks.

I attended a bridal shower for Cindy Mast.

These days you need to watch where you walk or you will become tangled in a web like what happened to Paul. It was dark yet and he was heading out early in the morning and walked right into one of these traps. When he got into his truck a spider was dangling from his arm.

Stacy had a birthday and turned 4.

Guests this evening for pizza were Russ, Loretta, and Allie from MO who are visiting Joel & Sheila. Russ and Sheila are cousins.

Sunrises and Guests

This is our view from the front porch early one morning last week.

A few minutes later, it looked like this.

And then one evening just before full moon, it looked like this.

Rick & Leona Good came to see us this past week.

While the men went to an equipment auction in Philadelphia, we ladies viewed quilts at the library in Columbus, took in an exhibit at the Columbus Art Center, went to a thrift store and an antique shop, and then had lunch at Cafe on Main. When we got home Leona set to sewing a quilt she brought along.

Paul's sister, Jeanie accompanied us and she helped Leona sew her quilt together.

I started machine quilting my Jungle Quilt.

And now my goal is to finish it by the end of April.

Leona and I each had 1 yard of "jungle" fabric that we challenged each other to make some sort of crib quilt.

The sunrise on another day.

Last evening in addition to having our children in for supper we invited these MDS couples to join us.

Lynn & Nettie Hiebert

Lloyd & Irene

My nephew Scott Hostetler and a friend, Jesse also joined us.
