Ohio Haiti Benefit Auction and Louisville, KY Railroad Bridge

Field work continues on the farm.

Paul and I had a trip to Ohio for a SLM Board Meeting and attended the Haiti Benefit Auction. He helped Levi Lees fry Mississippi catfish for the Friday evening meal.
This quilt, toy tractor & tricycle, and other items were donated to help raise funds for missions in Haiti.

There was an evening program with special music by this group of men, "Proclaim."

These mottoes are sure to beautifully grace someone's walls.

We left the auction a little early to get a start for home and stopped in Louisville, KY for the evening.
This old railroad bridge had been changed into a walk for pedestrians across the Ohio River.

And there was a nice park along the river.

Flying Geese on My Design Wall

On my design wall ...

I'm working on a quilt using the traditional 'flying geese' block as inspiration. I set the blocks into a 'carpenter wheel' layout and colored them up to get this design.

You can see the start of this project here.

The changing sky captures my attention so often.

Guests, MQA Classes, and Note Cards

Recent guests in our home came from Virginia, where I grew up. Eldon Horst, John & Ruby Hartzler, and Jodie & Samuel Heatwole. They were traveling with the Shenandoah Valley Chorus who gave us a wonderful program at our church.

I attended the MQA June Gathering in Jackson the other week. They offered both art quilt and ...

... traditional quilt classes.

We had guests again; this time for Sunday lunch.
Tillie and her daughter Oneida Miller

Ben & Krista Fleagle and family along with his sister Terra.

John & Carol Yoder

Russ & Loretta Martin and family

I had fun making these scrappy fabric note cards for my upcoming July exhibit at the Rosenzweig Art Center.

Sunrise, MQA Meeting, Lost Quilt

Life ...
Occasionally I get up early.

Talya, the birthday girl. I got her a nice card with a large 5 on it.

And then when we got to her house for her party I found out that she only turned 4!

... as a Quilter
We enjoyed a guest, Marietta J. from the coast for one night.

She along with the other MQA board members came here for a meeting on Saturday.

I wish I could find my other bunk bed quilt like this one that I made back in the 1980s. If you see it somewhere, please let me know!

It is made from a lot of scraps from my old dresses and Amy's dresses.
