A Challenge–2013 Finishes

I’ve joined  “A Lovely Year of Finishes” for 2013 hosted by Fiber of All Sorts and Bittersweet Designs.
Maybe with this challenge I can finish at least 12 of my unfinished projects.  I’m not sure that’s going to happen, but I’m going to try.
My goal for January is to finish “The Blue and the Grey: Quilting America’s Great Divide.”
I laid out some thread and glitzy netting to see if that would help my drab and dull start.

I haven’t used the netting yet and I’m not sure that I will. I’m still quilting and quilting and quilting.

  2. Sometimes it is difficult to determine when a piece is finished. I think your work is charming and complete as is. Hand quilting always adds a nice touch. I like the quilt. Good luck.

  8. I like what I can see of your quilt, and would love to see more of the design. Being a traditionalist, I'd say nix the net. =)

  11. That netting might look interesting as a bunting addition after the quilt is finished. You know bunting was a popular method of decorating for patriotic events back then. Here are some images to help you get ideas:

I typed in "civil war bunting" in Google and looked at the images, in case the link doesn't work for you. :-)
