Dustin & Gina came home for the weekend for a wedding reception we had for them.
They came from New York with her folks, Mel & Ann and sister, Kaylie.
My sister Coleen & Glen from Georgia and their daughter Claire Bleu came for the event.
We took a tour of the Bogue Chitto Cotton Gin.
These 2 machines take the seed out of the cotton.
The seed is sold and used as a protein supplement.
What fun to play in this little pile of cotton seed.
The cotton is packed and pressed very tight and wrapped with metal straps into 500 pound bales.
The bales are wrapped and loaded into waiting van trailers ready to be shipped.
The gin was very clean but also very loud and noisy.
Saturday evening after the wind died down the boys pulled out their RCs and the Leagle Eagle.
There goes Joel.
Here comes Joel.
Then it was time for a pizza supper.
When Georgi was finished eating she decided it was time to fetch the sweets.
She almost had them when her daddy came and took her away!
When the pizza supper was over we passed out the song books and sang quite a while. I loved it!
Tina is about to overtake Stacy.
Michael has a fun time being dumped!
Momma reads “The Little Engine That Could” to her two tired boys.
Sunday afternoon we had the reception for Dustin & Gina.
Dustin entertained the little ones until the guests started arriving.
And then again the house about to burst at the seams!
~~~~~~~~~~
Does this mean that Kirby is about ready for school?
Many felicitations for the new couple!! I love the peacock colors for the reception. What a fun picture with all the little ones dressed up together, and what a fabulous long table for large gatherings!! Also, it was very interesting to see the tour of the cotton facility. Thanks for sharing that.
Just think of all the yards of cotton fabric one of those bales would make! Great seeing pictures of Dustin and Gina's Mississippi reception. Love seeing the smiles on their faces. May they have many years together!
Oh Julia, thanks for the wonderful time we had in your home! You're a great hostess! The picture of Georgi in the frig on the stool with her foot cocked out makes me laugh. And I love the picture of Dustin in his wedding finery flying the kite for his niece and nephews. There's something really special about that!
I enjoyed the variety of this post. The cotton processing was interesting. I was thinking how neat and clean it looked, then you mentioned it - but how noisy it was. I could only try to imagine the noise. :)
