Friendship Oak

This live oak tree continues to stand in Long Beach, MS. It has a long interesting history that is recorded HERE.

I adapted the picture with a photo app, ironed it to freezer paper, and sent it through my printer and then ...

... quilted it. When it was finished it just didn't have the pop that I like in my quilts. So ...

I enhanced it with brighter fabric and Superior's varigated thread. Here you can see the difference the change made.

I just wanted to take a moment to tell you how much I enjoy your work. I'm not sure I can even say what it is that calls to me, but I love it when I pop in here and something new is posted. I don't think that I've let you know this before, and I figured it was time. :)
