Sunrise Beauty, Picnic, Fixing the Pond, Grabers

Life ...
The beauty of the morning sky continues to enthrall me.

What does it matter if the landscaping grass becomes flattened and my best sofa pillow becomes soiled? Ashton, Georgi, and Talya had fun making their own little nests.

Paul pulled dirt and mud from the pond...

... and will pack it down along the banks to try and stop the leaking.

He was glad for a sandwich and Mt. Dew for a break.

At their suggestions and pleas, I fixed a picnic lunch for us.

A portion of Paul's family gathered at the school for a Thanksgiving lunch and fellowship.

Memorial Day Picnic at Lowell Mullets

Volleyball is an all time favorite. Can you find the ball?

After the little children had fun with “corn hole” …

… the big boys got to play.

These boys are not twins, brothers, or even first cousins. Darren’s mom is a double first cousin to Craig’s dad.

It’s got to be funny.

This great hill provided lots of fun for the children.

Melanie is ready to catch that football.

The pork chops, tenderloin, and ribs were delicious.

And then there was lots and lots of visiting.

1600 Quilt, Giveaway Winner, Picnic

Since Mother finished the FourSquare String Quilt, she started another one with the left over strings of my "Spring Storm."

aa3

She just sewed the ends of the strips together  for a 1600 quilt only…
aa4

I think it’s more like a 3072 quilt.aa5

I think she was both surprised and pleased at how fast it went together.
aa6

I need to cut some borders for her, and then I think it will almost be a twin size.

And the winner for my fabric giveaway is #111.

HI! IT'S THE ROSEBUD PINEAPPLE!
THANKS FOR A LOVELY GIVEAWAY!
HAPPY STITCHING

Congratulations, Linda!

I found it interesting to see my readers favorites of my NQOF quilts. I'm guessing that "A Plate of Pineapples" and "Pharoah's Tombs" were chosen the most.  Thank you everyone for your comments and participation. A Plate of Pineapples won a blue ribbon last week at QuiltFest in Pigeon Forge.

And "Pharoah's Tombs" and "Ezekiel Saw the Wheel" were both on exhibit at the AQS Show in Lancaster, but no ribbons there!

Saturday I took Kirby, Stacy, and Ashton for a picnic…

Later I took a walk while the boys rode their bikes.  First Kirby’s pant leg got caught in the chain.

Then his chain came off. And later the riding got too hard for Stacy & Ashton. I was glad to get back to the house where the boys could play quietly in the living room and I could get back to my quilting!

Picnic and Hymn Sing

Our church was invited to Willard & Jenn's for a picnic under the shade trees.

Here Tressa enjoys one of her, (Is it 13?) great grand children.

Our congregation has many little children and young parents again after a long dry spell.

The youth group enjoyed each other's company.

Dana & Thelma played "corn hole" with ...

... Jewel and Alma. Leland helped keep score.

Jeff visited with brothers, Otis & Elmer while their wives, Marie & Anna Mae who are sisters share together.

"Happy Birthday to You" made Diane smile for her 25th birthday.

Hiedi visits with the "birthday girl."

On Sunday evening we gathered at Roy & Tillies for an outdoor hymn sing. Brother Roy is bedfast. He enjoyed the music from the open window.

After the singing these girls appeared at my side to shake my hand and get a pink lozenge. I failed to have the candy on hand, so I took their picture instead.

Oneida rounded up a baby goat ...

... for the children to pet.
