Pinocchio

Our local quilt guild is making a quilt, just for fun, with blocks depicting Fairy Tales or Mother Goose rhymes. I chose Pinocchio for my block.

I made copies to use as templates from a coloring book type image. I used this technique with some of our grandchildren that you can see HERE.

Each piece was cut out and fused to the black background.

Progress

I tried this background but liked the checkerboard best.

Pinocchio - 12"x12" finished and ready to be turned in.

A Resting Place II

On my design wall this morning is
"A Resting Place II." It has squares instead of diamonds for the background. It too is small, 8" x11."

Susan Cleveland Workshop

Recently our Possum Town Quilters had a workshop with Susan Cleveland. She shared her Bodacious Big Thread Applique & More class with us.

I really like her dresden fan quilt.

The variety in placement and color make this quilt appealing to me.

And then these small quilts are her samples that she brought for our class.

She showed us many other quilts and explained different techiniques with us.

Here are some of our Possum Town Quilter's getting started on their own projects.

And this is my version of her three daisies.

Seven of us completed our quilts in time for our Christmas party.

Quilting with the Possum Town Quilters

I prepared a red and green string quilt as a project for our Possum Town Quilters.
Using an old algebra book for foundations we placed a yellow strip diagonally in each block with
red on one side and green on the other side.

Karen is a new member and brought along some of her fiber art for show and tell. I love her use of bright colors
and improvisational designing.

Paul’s mom had a birthday this week. We took supper to her and Daddy and enjoyed the evening. They have
lots and lots of purple martins.

I enjoyed quilting with these ladies, The Maple Street Quilters from Columbus. Most of their work goes to the American Red Cross.
