Life and Patches Workshops

Life ...
The box of Dustin's forgotten boots was returned to me because the 'send' label came off. I quick took it back to the post office and they shipped it out again at no extra charge. How nice is that?

While Evie helped clean for an elderly lady from church, I got to take care of Teryn and Rusty.

I'm ready to go buy a new washing machine. The clothes wrapping around the agitator is quite bothersome.

... as a Quilter
My sister Polly gifted me with lots and lots of basting pins. I was so glad for them today getting Josiah's quilt ready for machine quilting.

Recently I have taught my "Patches" class in Virginia ...

... and Mississippi.

I just love the creativity of the students and ...

... their choices for the silhouettes.

Daddy's Ties from Buck Hildreth

Life ...
Rusty was entertained for a bit with the mirrors on the medicine cabinet.

... as a Quilter
I finished the quilt I have been working on for "Pea Picker." I just love the way the light reflects and gives luminosity to the quilt.

"Daddy's Ties"
from the collection of 'Buck' Hildreth.
Each tie was picked open and ironed. Then I added a lightweight woven interfacing to each piece to help stabilize the fabric.

I quilted it with loop-dee-loops and then trimmed it and sewed on the binding with my machine. Then I hand stitched the binding to the back side.

The label

And then Mr. Jimmy (Pea Picker) came by to pick it up. I think he was as pleased as me.

Life ...

I finally finished Teryn's puppy quilt.

Of course he was more interested in the train than the quilt.

Our newest grandchild, Rusty Cole with Grampa. I think he is a pretty baby.

Josiah has learned to like the slide now. However he still wanted to hold my hand for his ride down.

Tina at play.

I attended a baby shower. Chrystal's mom Cheryl made a list of the gifts and givers as she opened each present.

Her sister Rosanna knew how to keep the children quiet for a little while with books that were given in place of cards.
