Projects -- Daisies, Sailboat V, and Teryn's Quilt

I'm still working on my "Daisies" from the workshop that I took with Susan Cleveland.

Sailboat V is now complete.

This piece developed from a picture I had taken of my nephew, Scott. I tweaked it on the computer to make a sketch and then printed it on fabric. Using black, I thread painted the sketch and then quilted it.

Talya, Tina, and Susan Cleveland Workshop

Life ...

Talya and Tina came for a visit ...
... and to spend the night.

 ... as a Quilter

Our Possum Town Quilters enjoyed a class with Susan Cleveland.

She showed us some of her beautiful quilts and

and shared tips and techniques with us.

There was a lot of variety in the quilts we made.

Magnolia's Annual Guest Day Sewing

Each year in November our Magnolia Mennonite Sewing Circle has a special Guest Day Sewing.

I'm guessing we had a record breaker this year with around 70 adults and 50 children in attendance.
 Some tied quilts while ...
... others wrapped Christmas Bundles for the Olive Branch Mission in Cherry Creek, SD.
Most of the children played outside but a few found their way to the coloring table.
This top was started at last years Guest Day Sewing and now it's being tied.
Quilting on a baby quilt.
The ladies at this table made young girls dresses for Shining Light Children's Home in Mexico.
The sun was setting when I arrived home.

Teryn's 2nd Birthday, Guests, Linda's Lilies, and Outside Fun

Life ...

Teryn and the turkeys greeted us for an evening of ...

... celebrating his 2nd birthday.

We welcome a new grandson, Rusty Cole into our family. Quinten & Evie now have a quartet of boys.

Recent visitors in our home were my first cousin Elaine & Larry Picket, all the way from Yakima, WA.

And from further away, we welcomed Horatiu and Gina from Romania.

Georgi and Tina wanted to see what it looked like inside the hog barns.

Talya joined them in the cotton. It wasn't as much fun as they were hoping with all the hulls and sticks poking them.

... as a Quilter

I have finally started to quilt Teryn Ray's quilt that I started way back here.

Linda and Carol Sue came and spent the day with me. Linda quilted her "Lilies" that she had started in my class in Starkville.

I really like how it turned out.

The quilting added an extra dimension of color and texture.

OH Haiti Benefit Auction and Power Line Birds

SEPTEMBER

Life ...

Paul and I got to attend the Ohio Haiti Benefit Auction.
Cotton candy was quite the treat for children and adults alike. I pitied the lady on the right who was twirling the cones; but she didn't seem to mind getting sticky. She said someone needs to do it and it may as well be her!

I had a good visit with long time friend Yamelith.

We stayed with Fathers 1st cousin and enjoyed their bench by the creek.

... as a Quilter

Our Mississippi fiber art group met and showed our 8"X11" blue/bird pieces.

My piece, Power Line Birds is finished now. I'll be making a 2nd one as I didn't follow directions and made this one 8"X10." If only I would have looked three times at the qualifications!

Power Line Birds -- back
Ready for display. $35 SOLD
