Harvesting Corn, Lily, and Bubbled Double Nine Patch

Life … on the farm

Quinten gets the combine ready for the day.

Cutting corn and unloading it into a grain cart.

Bronson and Gabriel hauled the corn away as fast as Quinten could cut it.

Ashton loved riding with Gabriel for a while.

Uh-oh! Problems in the wiring harness.

The ground is gradually turning red from the bees wings of the corn kernels.

After a windy day there was actually a drift of bees wings on the east side of the shop.

Paul gave the neighbors a ride after a hard day’s work.

… as a Quilter

Today I fixed up my mobile design walls in preparation for Saturday’s “Lily” Workshop in Starkville.

Now what shall it be?

Ebb and Flow?

Swimming Lanes?

Man with a Walking Stick?

Twisted Cords?

Dimensions: 9.75” X 6.75”
Cotton Fiber
Heavily quilted with Superior Thread
Fused applique
$45
Ready for hanging with “Fast Finished Triangles.”

Notice how the composition wanted to buckle after I added the binding.

Soaking the fibers with water and drying it flat solved the problem.

… as a Quilter

I enjoyed quilting with these ladies, The Maple Street Quilters from Columbus. Most of their work goes to the American Red Cross.

Quilts for Lois and Josey

Remember how the Graber ladies got together to celebrate Lois’ 60th and Josey's 40th?

I decided to make them each a small quilt.
IMG_3862

I enlarged the pictures and tweaked them on the computer and then printed them onto fabric.

And then the stitching began.

Lois’ neck looked too fat and puffy so I added some stitched lines to slim her down!

The backs are labeled and finished with fast finished triangles and ready for hanging.
